Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police arrested 31 students carrying sharp weapons and acid in the North Gunung Sahari area on Monday night, suspected of preparing for a brawl.
“We arrested 31 students gathering with sharp weapons, firecrackers, and two bottles of acid,” said Central Jakarta Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, on Tuesday (1/10/2024).
Police confiscated 17 sharp weapons, one firecracker, a golf stick, a metal ruler, and two bottles of acid. They also seized 25 mobile phones and 20 motorcycles used by the students.
Six students admitted to carrying sharp weapons and a 600 ml bottle of acid. The involvement of the remaining 25 students is under investigation, as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief Susatyo urged parents to monitor their children to prevent them from engaging in brawls or using drugs, which could harm their future.
The suspects face up to 10 years in prison under Emergency Law No. 12/1951 for carrying sharp weapons.
