Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Pesanggrahan Police Office are currently identifying a man caught on camera placing QR code stickers linked to online gambling sites in Petukangan Selatan, Pesanggrahan.
The investigation began after CCTV footage went viral, showing a suspect in a pink hat attaching the codes to parked motorcycles and walls. After placing each sticker, the perpetrator reportedly photographed the objects as proof of placement.
“The Pesanggrahan Police are conducting further identification and deepening the investigation into this case,” said Pesanggrahan Police Chief Senior Inspector Seala Syah Alam, on Sunday. (15/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The footage reveals the suspect fleeing the scene on a motorcycle lacking a license plate with an accomplice. Local residents discovered that scanning the QR codes redirected their browsers to illegal gambling platforms.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid scanning suspicious codes in public spaces. Forensic teams are now analyzing the digital footprint of the linked websites to track the wider network behind this promotion tactic.
