inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of East Jakarta Sub-regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nicolas Ary Lilipaly assures that his investigators are working hard to uncover the truth behind the death of the Indonesian Christian University college student, Kenzha Walewengko.
He said that police investigators prioritize scientific procedures and accurate results to ensure legal clarity.
"We are conducting our investigation process transparently, by paying attention to every witness' statement, and waiting for the autopsy results from the Police Hospital and the forensic examination. We understand that there is a lot of speculation circulating in the public, but we assure you that we work with great care and professionalism," said Nicolas on Wednesday (3/19/2025).
So far, he said, 34 witnesses have been examined, consisting of representatives from the Indonesian Christian University (UKI), the hospital treating the victim, a number of students and liquor sellers.
Nicolas emphasized that the Scientific Crime Investigation approach is very important in this case. This investigation also involves coordination with the Police Hospital and forensic lab, in order to conduct a more in-depth examination of toxicology, histopathology, digital forensics, and the victim's DNA.
"We need time for the results to be accurate, so that we can be legally responsible for every step of this investigation," explained the Chief of Police.
