Inp.polri.go.id – Kupang. The Turangga Mantap Brata Operation personnel of Kupang City Sub-regional Police continues to safeguard the election logistics at Kupang City General Election Commission (KPU) warehouse at Timor Raya Street KM.8, Kelapa Lima, Kupang City on Monday (12/18/2023).
As of now, Indonesia is now in election atmosphere as the country is about to determine the next new president for 2024-2029. Seeing the importance of the election, police aims to secure the 2024 election logistics.
The election logistics 2024 include ballot papers, ballot boxes, ink, and others. Those logistic would play important role in determining the fate of Indonesia for the next five years.
Kupang City Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Rishian Krisna Budhiaswanto says the safeguarding election logistics has been carried out strictly to ensure the upcoming election would go accordingly.
“Physically, the security of KPU office building was conducted by deploying our personnel. The security also enhanced by installing CCTV camera. While, non-physically, the security carried out by scanning every item entering and exiting the building to ensure the items are not stolen or forged,” says Rishian Krishna on Monday (12/18/2023).
On that occasion, Krishna that the security operation is part of preventive strategy and effort to guarantee election integrity and security.
“We are committed to maintain security and the smoothness of the election process in Kupang City,” says Krishna.
According to Krishna, with the implementation of security operations around KPU warehouse, it is hoped that it could provide security around the area.
“Our operations not only to protect the important items, build also to build public trust that the election would be going fairly, transparent and safe. We are ready to work together with related stake holders to ensure the success of the election,” conclude the police chief.
