West Sumatra Regional Police intensively prepares personnel deployed in market place, tourist destination, church, and other religious places ahead December holiday season. “As many as 2,139 personnel of West Sumatra Regional Police, and 2,206 personnel from institutions or related stakeholders, will be deployed to secure 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year Eve,” West Sumatra Regional Police PR Chief, Senior Superintendent Dwi Sulistyawan said on Tuesday (12/19/2023). “The centralized operation codenamed Lilin Operation, and named Singgalang Lilin Operation for West Sumatra, will be held for 12 days,” adds the PR chief. Moreover, Dwi detailed that the operation will began from December 22nd, 2023 to January 2nd, 2024. The operation aims to ensure a safe and peaceful Christmas and 2024 New Year Eve Celebration. “In anticipating traffic accidents during holiday season, we implore people would comply with traffic laws as effort to suppress the accident numbers,” says the PR Chief.
