Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Tebet Police Office refuted allegations on Tuesday (14/4/2026) that a patrol vehicle struck a resident during a violent inter-community brawl in South Jakarta on Monday night.
"Regarding information claiming a police car hit a citizen, that is simply not true," stated Tebet Police Chief Senior Inspector Iwan Gunawan while clarifying the viral social media footage, as reported by antaranews.com
The incident occurred on South Bukit Duri Street when a resident, identified as MRAB, was reportedly struck by a flying projectile during the clash. The victim collapsed near the moving patrol unit, leading onlookers to mistakenly believe a collision had occurred, which subsequently triggered a brief attack on the police vehicle.
Officers managed to disperse the crowd within five minutes and immediately evacuated the injured victim to Tebet Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The victim's parents later appreciated the police response, confirming their son was hit by a hard object while commuting home from work.
