inp.polri.go.id - West Kalimantan. West Kalimantan Regional Police Health Unit went directly to the evacuation site for flood-affected residents in Mempawah Regency. This step was taken to ensure the health of the refugees is maintained amidst less than supportive environmental conditions.
Led by the Head of West Kalimantan Regional Police Bhayangkara Hospital, Senior Superintendent Josep Ginting, the team visited several evacuation points, such as Wisma Candramidi, East Mempawah 1 Elementary School , and the Flood Handling Post in Sejegi Village.
"We are here to provide health services, as well as distribute medicines and health equipment for residents affected by the flood. The flooded environment and lack of sanitation are at risk of causing disease, so immediate handling is needed," he said on Wednesday (1/29/2025).
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Bayu Suseno, explained that this health service is part of the Liong Kapuas Police Operation 2025. This operation not only focuses on securing the Chinese New Year celebration, but also handling natural disaster situations in the West Kalimantan region.
"The West Kalimantan Regional Police health team is ready to provide assistance whenever needed. In this operation, we ensure that health care for flood victims remains a top priority," said the Head of Public Relations.
In addition to health services, the West Kalimantan Regional Police also coordinates with related agencies to ensure that aid distribution runs smoothly. With solid collaboration, it is hoped that residents affected by the flood can recover quickly and return to normal life.
