Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Ministry of Digital and Communication is developing plans to create a safer digital space in the 100th days of work of Minister Meutya Viada Hafid.

"In the last 100 days, Ministry of Communication and Digital has been working hard to create a safer digital space. In our work, we have banned approximately 1,037,558 negative contents," says Minister Meutya on Thursday (1/30/2025).

In her statement, she explains that in eliminating the negative contents, her party has involved 745 Internet Service Providers to ban the negative contents in 945,431 internet sites and 92,127 social media.

She emphasized that digital space is a public place that must be free from threats.

She further explains that negative content banning is also an effort to protect the young generations, preventing hoax news from spreading, and maintaining state unity. Meutya is concerned that if negative content continues to spread, it could create a conflict and harms the future of the next generations.

"We want to make sure that the next generation of Indonesia can grow in a safe and clean digital space," adds Meutya.

As of now, the Ministry of Communication and Digital is developing policies that guarantees a safe digital space for children. One concrete step is to draft a Government Regulation on Child Protection Governance in the Implementation of Electronic Systems (RPP TKPAPSE).

President Prabowo Subianto has even asked the Minister of Communication and Digital to immediately complete the regulation. The goal is to avoid children being exposed to inappropriate content, digital exploitation, and privacy violations.

"Protecting children in the digital world is like building a playground with a strong fence. With the right regulations, the government has ensured that the digital space remains a safe place for children," she concluded.
