inp.polri.go.id - Belu. The Belu Sub-regional Police reaffirmed their commitment to seriously addressing allegations of sexual violence against minors occurring within their jurisdiction.

The case was handled professionally, transparently, and fairly, while prioritizing the protection of the victim's rights and psychological well-being. This case was recorded in Police Report No. LP/B/12/I/2026/SPKT/Polres Belu/Polda NTT.

The police emphasized that child protection is a top priority for the state and the police. Therefore, any alleged violation of the law targeting children will be firmly prosecuted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The incident involved an alleged act of sexual intercourse against a 16-year-old girl, allegedly involving three defendants identified as RM and Cs.

The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 4:00 PM, at a hotel in Tenukiik Village, Atambua District, Belu Regency.

Based on the initial investigation, the incident began when the parties were consuming alcohol. While the victim was drunk, they were then involved in sexual intercourse. Investigators are currently investigating the entire sequence of events.

The police have taken law enforcement steps in accordance with procedures, starting with receiving the report, conducting a medical examination of the victim, interviewing witnesses, and gathering evidence by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Belu Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

The authorities urge all levels of society to be wise in receiving and disseminating information, especially through social media. The public is asked to respect the victim's privacy and not to share their identity or information that could worsen her psychological condition.

Furthermore, the Belu Sub-regional Police urge parents and families to boost supervision of their children's activities as an effort to prevent violence and sexual crimes.

"We guarantee that the legal process will be carried out professionally and impartially. The best interests of the victim are our top priority. We are here to ensure that the law is upheld and that children receive the protection they deserve," said the Belu Sub-regional Police Chief on Wednesday (1/13/2025).
