inp.polri.go.id - The Lampung Regional Police completed an investigation into the alleged false information case regarding the arrest of the Khilafatul Muslimin figure in Bandar Lampung City. The completion of the investigation into the case was announced on August 18, 2022 by the Head of Sub-Division of Public Information of Lampung Police, AKBP Rahmad Hidayat. "Because the investigation has been completed, the suspect along with the evidence will be transferred to the prosecutor's office," explained AKBP Rahmat Hidayat. The suspect in this case was CH alias AB. Based on the results of the investigation, he was suspected of spreading false news that the leader of the Khilafatul Muslimim was arrested while praying at dawn. Then AB allegedly called on the anti-Islamic government through video recordings. In this regard, the investigator suspects that AB has violated the legal provisions as stipulated in Article 14 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) and or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Law Regulation or Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45 letter A paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning information and electronic transactions with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
