inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Amidst the flood disaster that is raging in Greater Jakarta, a pregnant woman has to be evacuated from her flooded house in Kebon Pala, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

The unit of Mobile Brigade of Metro Jaya Regional Police, along with the military, are hand-in-hand helping the woman to evacuate using a float made of a tire.

“We were using a float made of tire in our last evacuation of a pregnant woman,” says the official of the mobile brigade unit, Police Senior Inspector Sutarso in Kebon Pala, Jatinegara, on Monday (7/7/2025).

He explains that the evacuation was carried out when the water level was already around a meter. Sutarso also explains the reasoning behind using tire was due to a narrow alley, preventing them from using a boat.

Sutarso said that his rescue team had been at the flood location since Sunday (7/6/2025) afternoon and a total of 250 people had been evacuated.

"Since 3 pm, we have started to help evacuate the people. We noted that there have been 250 people who we have successfully evacuated who are currently staying in the evacuation point at an elementary school building," said Sutarso.

In addition to helping with the evacuation process, Metro Jaya Regional Police also provided a field kitchen. This field kitchen was provided to provide food assistance to residents affected by the flood in Kebon Pala, East Jakarta.
