Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  In an effort to support local communities, West Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police officers  distributed 350 five-kilogram bags of rice to residents in the densely populated Tangki area of Taman Sari on Friday (1/3/2024). Senior Superintendent M Syahduddi, Chief of West Jakarta Police, said that aside from being part of post-2024 election activities, the rice distribution aimed to ensure food stability in the area, antaranews.com reported. "This initiative is a practical step towards maintaining local food stability," he said. Assistant Superintendent Adhi Wananda, Chief of Taman Sari Metropolitan Police Office, said that the distribution was a gesture of social care to those in need. "Our goal is not only to provide material assistance but also to show our solidarity with the community," he explained Chief Adhi added that such distributions would be ongoing, constituting the beginning of a sustained effort to support residents. Prior to this, West Jakarta Police had organized a low-cost market to help stabilize prices of essential goods on Wednesday. At this market, 2,000 packages containing rice, cooking oil, and other necessities were sold at discounted rates. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
