inp.polri.go.id – The driver and his assistant of the deadly tanker truck belonging to PT. Pertamina has been detained by the police. The driver and the assistant were arrested after the tanker truck hit numerous vehicles on the alternative road in Cibubur, Bekasi, West Java. This information was first conveyed by the Director of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police, Police Commissioner Latif Usman, S.I.K., M. Hum. Meanwhile, the Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakum) of the National Police’s Traffic Corps, Brigadier General Drs. Aan Suhanan, M.Sc., said that currently the driver of the Pertamina tanker truck with the initials S and the kernet with the initial K were secured at the Jatisampurna Police Station, Bekasi. He stated that both of their status are still witnesses and were being questioned at the Jatisampurna Police Headquarters. "We will be given 24 hours to determine whether they are suspects or not," told Brigadier General Aan. The accident caused a long traffic jam on the Transyogi Cibubur Alternative Highway and resulted in many deaths. The number of victims who died was approximately 10 people and among them were members of the Indonesian Navy Forces. "The victims currently is still being identified. The accident is now being handled by the Jatisampurna Police," explained NCO for the Indonesian Army Village Trustees of Jatirangga, Sergeant Triyatno.
