inp.polri.go.id – The National Police managed to thwart the smuggling of 7.2 tons of garlic through the Indonesia-Malaysia border in Jagoi Babang District, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan.
Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Police, Commissioner Raden Petit Wijaya, explained that from the disclosure, the police secured a truck containing garlic weighing 7.2 tons and arrested a driver with the initials A (42).
"A total of 7.2 tons of illegal or undocumented garlic was smuggled through the Indonesia-Malaysia border in Bengkayang Regency," explained the Head of Public Relations, Thursday (1/9).
He explained that this illegal garlic was packed into 400 sacks with each weighing 18 kilograms per sack. All the garlic that was secured was suspected to have come from Malaysia. According to him, the garlic is transported by truck. He also confirmed that he would continue to investigate the case.
"For the next process, this case was transferred to the Entikong Class 1 Agricultural Quarantine Station," he concluded.
