Police to Conduct Thorough Investigation on the Car Accident that Killed Five Foreign Nationals in Bali

inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police Traffic Directorate Unit is still investigating the cause of the minibus accident that resulted in the deaths of five Chinese foreign nationals (WNA) in Banjar Dinas Prabakula, Padang Bulia Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali.

"For now, it is still under investigation, we can't confirm anything yet. We will convey further information later," said the Director of Traffic of the Bali Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Turmudi on Monday (11/17/2025).

Turmudi said there were many factors that could be suspected to be the cause of the accident. Therefore, his party is still conducting further investigations to obtain comprehensive and accurate conclusions.

"There are still too many possibilities that can cause this accident such as negligence, human error, vehicles malfunction, and others," he explained.

According to him, until now his party is still coordinating with the Chinese consulate to be able to handle the incident and the Chinese nationals who died.

"Until now, it has been handled by the Buleleng Sub-regional Police and we have collaborated with the consulate and Interpol on how to handle traffic accidents involving foreign national victims," he explained.

The Bali Regional Police also provided protection to tourists who survived the accident.

"We can guarantee that we provide the best protection to the injured victims. We also coordinate with the consulate for the process of returning the deceased," he explained.

Previously on Friday, November 14, 2025 at around 04.30 am, a traffic accident occurred on the Singaraja-Denpasar Road KM 7,700 in the Banjar Dinas Prabukula area, Padang Bulia Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency.

The Head of Traffic for the Buleleng Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Bachtiar Arifin, said the accident involved a minibus which is suspected to have lost control. The minibus driven by Arif Al Akbar was carrying 13 Chinese nationals.
