inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police Cyber Criminal Investigation Directorate is investigating the involvement of foreign nationals in an international online fraud case of love scamming operation in Denpasar, Bali.
"From the results of the temporary investigation, the operators are controlled by someone abroad so that further investigations are being carried out to uncover the involvement of foreign nationals in this case," said Bali Regional Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya in Denpasar, Bali, Wednesday (6/10/2025).
Daniel explained that after the investigation team conducted searches at four locations in Denpasar that were branches of the international online fraud network, it was suspected that there was involvement of foreign nationals based in Cambodia.
This was reinforced by the confessions of the suspects who gave information that they were operators tasked with luring the victims, while the party controlling the network was in Cambodia.
Daniel said that the suspects who were arrested acted as broadcasters or operators tasked with finding love scam targets targeting the telegram accounts of United States citizens.
Therefore, his party will submit an application and coordinate with the Indonesian National Police's International Relations Division to coordinate with Interpol to uncover the network.
