Inp.polri.go.id – Banyumas. The Glass Bridge of Geong at Limpakuwus Pine Forest was shattered, causing a tourist died after falling for about 15 meters and another having a minor injury. Banyumas Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Eddy Suranta Sitepu explains that around 10:00, his party received a report of an accident where a person fell from the 15 meter-high bridge after its 1 cm thick glass was shattered. “We immediately came to the location and installed police line at the location where the person fell. From what we have gathered, the victim is from Cilacap,” says Eddy. Eddy then told, at 10 o’clock there were 11 people on the glass bridge. At the moment the glass was shattered, the two victims had hold on to the safety or awhile. Unfortunately, they then fell for about 15 meters, causing one died and another having minor injury. The tourist initialed FA (49) is a woman from Kertayasa Village and declared died after being treated for a moment at the hospital. Another victim, initialed A (41) is a woman from Widodomartani, fortunately only having minor injuries and currently being treated at the hospital. Eddy adds that his party will examine the location and investigate the shattering of Geong Glass Bridge. “For now, we have installed police line at the location and have contacted the forensic laboratory in Semarang. We will also ask related experts to inspect whether the glass is suitable or not for use. Other than that, the management and other will also be investigated,” he adds.
