Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have called on residents to report any campaign materials, such as banners, billboards, and flags, causing traffic disruptions, antaranews.com reported. Director of Traffic at  the Metro Jaya Police , Senior Superintendent Latif Usman, said that if residents encounter disruptive materials, they should report it. The police will coordinate with relevant authorities, such as the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu), for appropriate action. While the removal of such materials is not within the police's authority, they are prepared to assist when necessary, he said. "If it disturbs, report it. We will coordinate with Satpol PP, Bawaslu, to restore order," Chief Latif said. He said that while the police can secure and temporarily remove disruptive materials, the authority for complete removal lies with other agencies. "We will assist in securing and, if possible, tying them up to restore order. If the disruption persists, we will secure the materials first," Chief Latif said. The Traffic Police have already undertaken various measures, including patrols and removals, to address the disorder caused by campaign materials. "We collaborate with Satpol PP. They have been patrolling, following the Chief of Police's directive. Our officers have patrolled, especially on toll roads. For toll roads, we leave it to the toll road authorities. For public roads, Satpol PP handles it. We have coordinated," he said In addition, the police have reported several locations with disruptive campaign materials to Bawaslu for further action. "We will communicate with them. If it's clear that it disrupts, we will remove it, not just us, but also Satpol PP. We will also report it to Bawaslu," he said. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
