inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from FIFA President Gianni Infantino in New York, United States, on Wednesday (September 24, 2025). 

The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation and the development of football in Indonesia.

In a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, the FIFA President was welcomed directly by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya before the two headed together to the meeting room.

"This meeting is a strategic momentum to discuss the rapid development of Indonesian football, as well as strengthening the commitment to cooperation between Indonesia and FIFA," the statement said on Thursday (September 25, 2025).

After the meeting, President Gianni expressed his appreciation for President Prabowo's full support for the world of football.

"I am honored and very happy to be able to meet the President of Indonesia. He is a great friend of football, a leader who keeps his word, what he has done and is doing for football in a great football country like Indonesia is truly unique," said President Gianni.

The FIFA President stated that the Indonesian government has made significant strides in developing national football, for men, women, youth, and seniors.

He believes the sport has touched the hearts and minds of the Indonesian people in recent years.

FIFA hopes to strengthen its collaboration with Indonesia as a key partner in the development of global football.

"We hope to continue this fantastic collaboration for Indonesia, for all of ASEAN, for Asia, and for the entire world. We are united. This was also our discussion with the President; we want to unite the world, and Indonesia plays a vital role in that," explained War Gianni.
