inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto instructed the opening of airports in Indonesian cities to increase direct flight connectivity from Singapore airlines.

President Prabowo in front of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in a joint press statement at the first Leaders’ Retreat between Indonesia and Singapore said that many airports in Indonesia need to be opened to increase air connectivity.

"I have instructed the relevant ministries in Indonesia to increase the opening of all airports to direct foreign airline connections to our airports, many of which still need to be opened," President Prabowo said at Parliament House, Singapore, Monday (6/16/2025).

The President said that Indonesia is committed to increasing the intensity of flights as before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, with even higher flight numbers.

On the other hand, the President emphasized that air safety infrastructure and mechanisms are also being improved along with the opening of the airport for direct flights from Singapore.

"However, in principle, I want to see easier and faster access to our airport," Prabowo concluded.
