Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. President Prabowo Subianto congratulated Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir on Indonesia’s performance at the 33rd SEA Games 2025 in Thailand, where the national contingent claimed 91 gold medals, winning second place behind Thailand.

“Minister Erick Thohir, welcome back. Congratulations on 91 golds. I am happy, but also a little dizzy with the bonus payout,” President Prabowo said during a mass signing event for 50,030 subsidized housing units in Serang, Banten on Saturday (20/12/2025).

The achievement marked Indonesia’s best SEA Games result since 1995. Minister Erick confirmed that Indonesia remains uncatchable by Vietnam, currently third with 86 golds, ensuring the runner-up status regardless of remaining events.

President Prabowo instructed that each gold medalist receives a bonus of Rp 1 billion, totaling Rp 91 billion for 91 athletes, exceeding the Rp 525 million per gold given at SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia.
