Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto met FIFA President Gianni Infantino in New York on Wednesday (24/9/2025) on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, reaffirming joint efforts to advance Indonesian football.

“Football is more than a sport, it plays a strategic role in strengthening national unity and opening opportunities for young generations,” he said, expressing appreciation for FIFA’s continued support of Indonesia’s football transformation, as reported by antaranews.com.

The meeting emphasized cooperation on infrastructure development, youth training, and raising professionalism in the domestic football ecosystem. 

Infantino welcomed the initiative, stressing FIFA’s commitment to back Indonesia through international tournaments and long-term development programs.

Both leaders highlighted football’s potential to foster cultural exchange and global engagement, positioning Indonesia as an emerging football hub in Asia.
