Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has ordered the acceleration of national oil refinery projects and the legalization of thousands of community-operated oil wells across Indonesia.

“President Prabowo emphasized that matters concerning the people must take priority as part of implementing Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, the legalization process will be expedited,” said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources  Bahlil Lahadalia after a limited meeting at the President’s residence in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Sunday (19/10/2025).

Bahlil SAID that around 22,000 community oil wells in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra, each produce about two barrels of oil per day, a figure deemed significant for national energy resilience, as reported by antaranews.com. 

The government is also finalizing two of 18 planned refinery projects, including Pertamina’s East Kalimantan facility set for partial inauguration in November. Other refinery sites await feasibility study completion before construction begins.
