Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has instructed all state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with available land to implement social housing programs as part of the government’s plan to provide 3 million affordable homes for Indonesians.
“Every SOE that owns land has been ordered by the President to carry out social housing programs. This is a direct instruction,” said Housing Task Force Chairman Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo at a pre-cooperation launch in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He stressed the mandate was not symbolic but a concrete directive to accelerate access to decent and affordable housing.
State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) is the first SOE to follow the order, partnering with the Ministry of Housing and Qatari investor Al Qilaa International Group.
Their initial project will develop 50,000 units in Jakarta’s Kampung Bandan under a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) scheme. The government has said that the housing is strictly for Indonesian citizens, including civil servants, to ensure fairness and expand affordable homeownership.
