inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In catching up with other countries in education, the government has launched Garuda Schools in several regions aimed at improving the quality of education.
"Earlier, we had 10 Garuda Senior High Schools. We hope there will be 10 more schools every year, and this is a very high criterion. But this is not a problem as we are a big country," said President Prabowo during a closed meeting at the State Palace on Monday (10/20/2025).
President Prabowo stated that quality education starting at the high school level will achieve an equitable learning system in Indonesia. He ordered the ministries, the Military Commander-in-Chief, and the Chief of Police to work towards its success so that bright children from low-income backgrounds can still receive the best quality education.
"So, I ask that the Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education be assisted by other ministers. On the other hand, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, is assisted by the Minister of Social Affairs, assisted by the Commander of the Indonesian National Military (TNI), and assisted by the Chief of Police, who has networks extending to the villages," explained President Prabowo.
The Head of State also supports the involvement of existing community organizations and educational foundations. This will then be collaborated with the government's education scholarship program.
