Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of National Development Planning and Head of the the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy said that U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies would have a lesser impact on Indonesia’s economy compared to other countries.
“Trump’s policies will not affect Indonesia as deeply as other nations, so we must remain optimistic about achieving our economic growth targets,” he said in his statement on Sunday (9/2/2025).
President Trump’s protectionist policies, including trade tariffs and cuts to foreign aid, have sparked global economic uncertainty. However, Indonesia’s economy remains strong, recording 5.03% growth in Q3 2024, with inflation at 1.57% and foreign exchange reserves at a record $155.7 billion, Minister Rachmat said.
Bappenas projects 5.3% growth in 2025, laying the foundation for an 8% target by 2029.
“Under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership, cross-sector collaboration will accelerate national development,” the minister added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
