Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Otto Hasibuan said President Prabowo Subianto’s decision to grant rehabilitation in the PT ASDP case serves as a signal for law enforcement to reflect on their performance.
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry is a state-owned Indonesian company that provides integrated ferry and port services. The president recently issued a legal rehabilitation for its former CEO Ira Puspadewi and former ASDP Directors Muhammad Yusuf Hadi and Harry Muhammad Adhi Tjaksono from a high-profile corruption case.
“We can interpret it that way, but the real question is whether law enforcers understand what kind of signal the President is sending,” Deputy Minister Otto stated after meeting the President at the Presidential Palace on Friday(28/11/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He explained that differences in perspective between prosecutors, defense lawyers, and defendants are normal because each party operates based on its own assessment of evidence. Courts, he emphasized, remain the final authority in determining the validity of a case.
Deputy Minister Otto added that when verdicts leave substantive justice concerns unresolved, the President’s constitutional prerogative becomes relevant. In this context, he noted, the President exercised his authority to reassess the matter and grant rehabilitation where deemed appropriate.
