inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police have revealed the identity of the perpetrator of the assault on a gas station employee in the Cipinang area, East Jakarta. Police have also arrested JMH in connection with the assault.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, confirmed that the perpetrator is self-employed and not a member of the police force.

"The perpetrator has been detained and is confirmed not to be a member of the Indonesian National Police. He is currently being processed by investigators from the East Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police. We ensure that the case is handled professionally and transparently," explained Budi in his statement on Tuesday (2/24/2026).

He also urged the public to respond wisely to information circulating on social media and to wait for official clarification from the authorities to avoid misunderstandings.

"We urge the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unverified information. If you witness similar incidents or acts of violence, report them immediately through the 110 Call Center or the nearest police station. Every report will be followed up," he said.
