inp.polri.go.id – The Police Chief of North Sulawesi Police, Inspector General of Police, Drs. Mulyanto, S.H., M.M., officially opened the Bhayangkara Offroad 76 tournament at Bhayangkara Tumatangtang Circuit, South Tomohon, Tomohon City, Saturday (7/16) morning. This competition is part of cooperation between Tomohon Police, Tomohon City Government, Indonesia Road Federation (IOF), and other instances in celebrating the 76th Anniversary of Bhayangkara. Inspector General Mulyanto appreciates and welcomed all the participants of Bhayangkara Offroad 76. He said that offroad is one of the sports events that is currently growing in the communities. “Offroad is not just a matter of skills in driving a vehicle in difficult terrain, but also requires sportsmanship and emotional high controls,” said North Sulawesi Police Chief. The North Sulawesi Police Chief explained that off-roading is also known to be the pioneers in various humanitarian activities. "Such as helping flood victims and other natural disasters, as well as driving through difficult terrains," he explained. The North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief said that through this off-road event, it is hoped that it can also be an opportunity to boost regional potential. "In addition to increasing the capabilities of off-road enthusiast, it is also hoped that it can promote and boost tourism potential in the Tomohon and North Sulawesi areas," explained the North Sulawesi Police Chief. He also invited the committee and all participants to uphold sportsmanship. “To the officials and offroaders, each of them should always adhere to the principles of sportsmanship according to the regulations that have been made by IOF. Good luck, may all participants always be in the protection of God Almighty," concluded the North Sulawesi Police Chief. The Bhayangkara Offroad 76 event is divided into offroad adventure competitions and mud racing. Offroad adventure consists of winch and non-winch classes, while mud racing consists of under, FFA, and additional classes. The competition took place from July 14-17 2022, attended by 57 participants from North Sulawesi and outside the region. The winners will receive prizes and trophies from the North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief as well as coaching money.
