Provides Many Talented Youths, Maluku Police Chiefs Visits University of Muhammadiyah Maluku

inp.polri.go.id - Maluku Police Chief, Inspector General of the Police, Drs. H. Lotharia Latif, S.H., M.Hum., gave his appreciation to the University of Muhammadiyah Maluku (UMM) for their contribution in producing many amazing youths. This appreciation was conveyed by Lotharia during his visit to UMM, Monday (11/7/22). His visit was warmly welcomed by the Chancellor of UMM, Dr. Mohdar Yanlua, accompanied by the Deans and Heads of Bureaus of UMM, in the UMM Rector's office. During his visit, he expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor and his staff who were willing to welcome their visit. According to him, education is open for everyone. “I once served in the NTT (East Nusa Tenggara) and there were tens of thousands of students on the Muhammadiyah Campus. So education doesn't have to be determined from where they came from or religion they comes from. Anyone, everyone deserves to get an education," said the Maluku Police Chief. He said that the task and role of the campus in this era is very important in preparing a superior next generation. On the other hand, he also hopes for lecturers to be able to tell their students to be smart in using social media. This is to protect themselves and the general society. "Now is an advanced era, therefore we just to obey the the existing rules to maintain an orderly situation. As written in Pancasila about fairness, this fairness should be realized," explained the former NTT Police Chief. . On that occasion, he also socialized the current program of the Maluku Regional Police, "Basudara Manise". This program aims to create a safe, peaceful, and prosperous society. "We hope that the campus will also participated in succeeding this program because as we know that Maluku have just recovered from the conflict that occurred not long ago. If today we are still bickering and fighting with each other, while other areas have grown and developed rapidly, we will be left far behind," concluded Maluku Police Chief. Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UMM, thanked the Maluku Police Chief and his entourage for visiting UMM. According to the Chancellor, the arrival of Maluku Police Chief and his entourage to the UMM campus was an honor for the UMM. "This an honor, and we appreciate it because although its still raining hard, you still visit us," said UMM Chancellor. The Chancellor hoped that in the future the cooperation between UMM and the Maluku Police would continue to be improved. "If you have time to spare, we hope that you could give public lectures to our students about national insight and the duties of the Police in maintaining security and public order so that our students can also get an insight, advice or additional knowledge from you," asked the Chancellor of UMM. In the same place, the lecturers who were present also asked the Maluku Police Chief to be able to realize cooperation in the future. Among them are facilitating UMM students to be able to carry out internships at the nearest police station. It can also help with certain needs that only the Police have for the research interests of students in following the current learning curriculum.
