The name of Tetsuya Yamagami became the spotlight after he shot former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to death.
Yamagami is known to have killed Abe using a hand-made firearm. The weapon is 40 centimeters long by 20 centimeters wide.
The suspect in the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Tetsuya Yamagami (41), revealed his reasons for carrying out his action last Friday (8/7).
At first, Yamagami was thought to have a grudge against Abe's role in politics and as the Prime Minister of Japan who had the longest term in office.
However, Yamagami told police investigators that he has a grudge against Abe due to the 67-year-old former prime minister's alleged links to a religious organization. He admitted that he did not have any bad prejudices about Abe's political career.
