Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded ticket sales of 3.87 million for the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holiday period as of Thursday (1/1/2026) reflecting strong public mobility across Java and Sumatra.

“As of 8 am on 1 January 2026, ticket sales for the 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 period reached 3,873,241,” said PT KAI Vice President for Corporate Communication Anne Purba, as cited by antaranews.com

PT KAI reported 3.18 million long-distance tickets sold, equivalent to 115.2 percent of seat capacity, due to dynamic passenger turnover along routes, while local train sales reached 691,587 tickets or 92.8 percent of capacity. The data were released in Jakarta on Thursday as part of the company’s holiday transport monitoring.
