Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chairman of the Housing Task Force, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, announced that Qatar and Abu Dhabi will finance the construction of 7 million housing units in Indonesia.
“President Prabowo Subianto confirmed that Qatar will fund 5 million units, with an additional 1 million pledged by a private benefactor from Qatar. Similarly, Abu Dhabi has committed to financing 1 million homes,” he said during a housing initiative event in Jakarta on Thursday (26/12/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The collaboration forms part of the government's broader target of building 15 million homes over five years, an ambition Hashim believes is achievable.
The announcement was made at the Ministry of Housing and Settlement’s 2024 Christmas Social Outreach, attended by Minister of Housing and Settlement Maruarar Sirait. The event included the distribution of food packages to residents of several government-built housing complexes.
