inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro emphasized that quality and relevant medical education is needed as a solution to the nation's challenges.
"Quality and relevant medical education is absolutely needed as a solution to the strategic challenges of the Indonesian nation towards a Golden Indonesia and a Healthy Indonesia," said Minister Satryo on Friday (2/14/2025).
Satryo explained that medical education must be oriented towards increasing access, quality, relevance, and the impact felt by the community.
The Minister of Education and Science revealed that his party has collaborated with the Ministry of Health in the selection of specialist and subspecialist doctor students from the medical faculty.
"We are doing this as a symbol of the synergy between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Health. In addition to the Golden Indonesia target, I also want to add a new target, namely Healthy Indonesia 2045," said the Minister Satryo.
The Minister of Education and Science Satryo reminded that Indonesia is currently facing various challenges such as climate change, global economic slowdown, limited demographic bonus time, technological disruption, artificial intelligence, and the threat of a new pandemic.
He also emphasized that among the thousands of types of workers that currently exist, only doctors' jobs will not be replaced by artificial intelligence (AI).
"However, doctors who do not use AI could be replaced by doctors who use AI," said the Minister of Education and Science.
Therefore, Minister of Education and Science Satryo advised that synergy between the education system and qualified health services is needed in implementing the roadmap towards Healthy Indonesia 2045, which starts from optimizing preventive efforts for public health.
