The Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin says that Ramadan is the perfect momentum to reconnect and solidify state unity following the dynamics of 2024 General Election. “Ramadan has always been the perfect moment for us to reconnect, strengthen our unity, solidify our kinship in Islam, kinship in citizens of state, and kinship as fellow humans,” said VP Ma’ruf Amin on Thursday (3/7/2024). He said that Indonesia is a state full of diversity. This, he said, should be seen as state unique characteristic that should preserved and nurtured to be the cultural riches that we are proud of. “We have gone through the 2024 General Election. And we are grateful that the election goes smoothly,” said Ma’ruf Amin. He says that the election naturally would divide people due to difference in opinion. However, he advised to the people that the election should not be the reason why people becoming more distant between each other. VP Ma’ruf Amin reminds that strong bonds between people is required for Indonesia to continue to develop and face new challenges in the future. “None of us know what future might bring us, however we have to continue to put our best effort and trust that God would always give us the best scenario,” said Ma’ruf Amin.
