Inp.polri.go.id – Riau Island. Riau Island Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yan Fitri Halimansyah visited Karimun Regency to review region’s security ahead the election. During his visit on Monday (1/29/2024), he emphasized the importance of upholding police neutrality amidst the tense political year. “Police played pivotal role in preserving security and order, while serves as people’s protector and guidance as was stated in the Law No. 2 of 2022 regarding the Indonesian National Police,” said the police chief. Yan also instructed the Sub-regional Police of Karimun to maintain neutrality ahead the election and prays that the national event would go accordingly. “In celebrating the democracy festive, I want to emphasize the importance of upholding police neutrality. Neutrality is the core principle that must be held firmly to ensure the election would be held with fair and free from political intervention,” conclude Yan. (ad/bg/pr/nm)
