Inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru.  Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Riau Regional Police Chief Inspector General M. Iqbal conducted surprise inspections to ensure safety standards and services for passengers at Sungai Duku Port in Pekanbaru on Sunday (7/4/2024). Accompanied by Sungai Duku Port Police Chief Senior Inspector Elva, he interacted with passengers and crews to verify safety measures. Passenger manifest showed 103 listed, with a ship capacity of 108, ensuring ample space. Emphasis was placed on safety rather than capacity. In addition to Sungai Duku Port, he also monitored Bandar Raya Payung Sekaki bus terminal and Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport. Passengers were advised to prioritize safety on roads, check vehicle conditions, and obey traffic rules to prevent accidents. (mg/mz/pr/nm)
