Sawahlunto Sub-regional Police Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Purwanto Hari Subekti oversees the grenade neutralization at Sawahlunto Police HQ shooting field. The grenade was initially found at Sungai Loban Hamlet, Muaro Kalaban Village, Sawahlunto by a local named Lazuardi on Thursday (11/21/2023) around 11:00 a.m. After finding the dangerous object, he brought the grenade to his house and told his father-in-law, which he then called the security officials. “After receiving the report, Muaro Kalaban Sector Police deployed their personnel to the location and secured the grenade which was put on Lazuardi front yard,” says Subekti on Wednesday (11/22/2023). Police then immediately secured the place and contacted West Sumatra Mobile Brigade Commander to send his Jihandak Team. On Thursday night, the team arrived and safely evacuated the grenade to Sawahlunto Police HQ. The grenade was then neutralized by exploding the grenade in open field. Following the event, Subekti convey to the public not to touch any suspicious items resembling grenades if they ever found it.
