Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Silitonga said on Monday (28/10/2024) that Second Inspector Rudy Soik, a former Head of the Kupang City Sub-regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, has time to appeal his recent dismissal.
"The initial ethics committee hearing decided on dismissal without honor, but there’s time for an appeal," he said during a session with the House of Representatives (DPR)’s Commission III, as reported by antaranews.
Chief Silitonga added that the NTT Police has 30 days to appoint officials to review the appeal, who will decide whether to uphold, overturn, or modify the original ruling.
Rudy’s membership in the police force, he said, will largely depend on his own commitment.
"It’s up to him if he wants to continue with the police," he explained.
Rudy’ dismissal stems from ethical violations related to investigating alleged fuel misuse and includes charges of defamation, abandonment of duty, and unprofessional conduct in handling subsidized fuel cases.
