Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police's Directorate of Criminal has placed two suspects involved in an online gambling ring, which includes a Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs official, on its wanted list.

Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi confirmed that one of the suspects is identified as A, with another suspect, M, also being pursued.

"We are intensifying the search for wanted A and M," he said on Wednesday (5/11/2024).

While Chief Ade Ary refrained from revealing whether the suspects are Ministry officials or civilians, he assured that the investigation would be thorough.

"Anyone involved, including Komdigi staff, gambling operators, or other parties, will be prosecuted for gambling-related offenses or money laundering," he added, as reported by antaranews.com.

So far, 15 people have been arrested, including 11 from the Ministry and four civilians.

The police also uncovered a gambling operation in a shop house in Bekasi, which was managed by three people. The 12 employees at the site were responsible for compiling lists of online gambling websites.
