Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) allegeldy attacked contract teachers in Anggruk District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, reportedly killing six.

“We received reports that six teachers were murdered and burned by KKB, but further verification is needed with the local administration and security forces,” said YahukimoSub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Heru Hidayanto, Saturday (22/3/2025).

The incident occurred Friday at around 4 pm, when KKB passed through the area, attacking and killing one teacher. They then entered a house, killed more victims, and set the house on fire.

Authorities are still verifying the victims’ identities and determining which KKB faction is responsible. 

"There is no police post in the area, so coordination is ongoing with Yahukimo authorities to decide the next steps," added Chief Heru, as quoted by antaranews.com.
