Inp.polri.go.id - Toboali. The South Bangka Sub-regional Police conducted inspections at several gas stations in Toboali to prevent fraudulent practices in the fuel trade.
"We are inspecting several gas stations in Toboali to prevent fraudulent practices by staff taking advantage of the high fuel demand before Eid al-Fitr season," said South Bangka Police Chief Superintendent Trihanto Nugroho on Sunday (31/3/2024).
He detailed that the inspection was carried out at gas stations number 24.331.99, number 24.331.71, number 24.331.130, number 24.331.134, and number 24.331.154.
"We have deployed the Criminal Investigation Unit to inspect several gas stations in Toboali to anticipate fraud during the exodus," Chief Trihanto said.
He explained that the inspections were a precautionary measure because there have been cases where SPBUs sold fuel mixed with water, causing losses to consumers. In addition, it was to maintain a conducive security situation during Ramadan and ahead of the homecoming exodus for Eid al-Fitr.
Chief Trihanto said that the inspection includes checking the pump machines at the gas stations to ensure they are functioning properly and the underground tanks comply with state-owned fuel company Pertamina's established standard operating procedures.
The police did not find any fraudulent practices in the fuel sales process at several gas stations in the area.
"We urge gas station owners not to engage in fraudulent practices that could harm consumers, and if found, strict action will be taken," he warned.
