The Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Winarto explains that the drugs destroyed by his party was the evidence gathered from police drug busts from September to November.
The police officials revealed that the drug evidence destroyed included 79,397.58 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 63,846 ecstasy pills, 5,362.59 grams of ecstasy powder, and 407.40 grams of marijuana.
In addition to securing narcotics evidence, officers also arrested 36 suspects, consisting of 35 men and 1 woman from the total of 24 police reports.
From this disclosure, the police managed to save 475,677 people from the dangers of drugs, and managed to save the state's rehabilitation costs of IDR 2,378,575,000,000.
Furthermore, Winarto also explained that the narcotics evidence destroyed this time was worth IDR 133,596,900,000.
His party has coordinated with West Kalimantan Regional Police and Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency in various prevention effort of drugs entering South Kalimantan.
Regarding this drug network, the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief said that this is an international network owned by Freddy Pratama alias Miming which circulated via land routes.
