Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reassured the public on Wednesday (4/3/2026) that the state budget remains strong enough to withstand prolonged global crises, including the economic fallout from escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Following a late-night meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, the Minister confirmed that the government has prepared various fiscal defense scenarios.
"We discussed whether the budget can hold if this crisis persists. Based on our current analysis, our fiscal condition is healthy, and there are no immediate issues," Minister Purbaya said, as cited by antaranews.com.
A primary driver of this resilience is the significant 30% growth in tax and customs revenue recorded during January and February 2026. This surge indicated robust economic activity and improved taxpayer compliance, he said.
Regarding the impact of the U.S.-Iran conflict on energy costs, the Ministry has simulated several oil price scenarios. While the state budget is designed to absorb moderate price hikes, the Minister noted that extreme market volatility would prompt a recalculation of fiscal policies to maintain national stability.
