Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Human Rights has confirmed on Monday (15/12/2025) that the state has restored the rights of 600 victims of past gross human rights violations, marking a key step in Indonesia’s long-term reconciliation efforts.
“This number is still less than 10 percent of the 7,000 victims who have been identified,” said Director General for Human Rights Services and Compliance Munafrizal Manan during the launch of a national roadmap for resolving unresolved human rights cases, as reported by antaranews.com.
The restored beneficiaries come from 12 cases officially recognized by the government, including East Timor, Tanjung Priok 1984, Abepura, and Paniai. According to the ministry, judicial mechanisms previously failed due to evidentiary barriers, leaving many cases unresolved.
To address this, Kemenham introduced a policy roadmap developed since mid-2025 through consultations with the National Commission of Human Rights (Komnas HAM), the Attorney General’s Office, courts, regional administrations, experts, and victims. T
