inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police successfully arrested house thieves in the Kayuringin Jaya area, South Bekasi, Bekasi City. One of the five thieves in the gang has to be shot in the leg because of resisting arrest.

It was reported that the thieves broke out the house in September when the homeowner was going to the market. The gang of thieves managed to take away jewelry worth IDR 350 million.

"We took firm, measured action against one of the suspects because during the arrest, he tried to run away," said Head of Violent Crimes Sub-Directorate of Metro Jaya Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate, Superintendent Rovan Richard Mahenu on Monday (10/14/2024).

Rovan revealed the five arrested thieves had the initials of R alias Koko (42), JN alias Yaya (33), AH (43) and A (27). On the other hand, there are stolen goods receiver who worked alongside the thieves that has been arrested by the police, he is HAS alias Rio (37).

Rovan said that the five perpetrators have now been named as the suspects. For their actions, the gang of thieves will be charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning the crime of aggravated theft.

"The article we are charging is Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 7 years," he explained.
