The Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesian National Police Successfully Thwart International Drug Smuggling Networks

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Drug Crimes of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle ecstasy from Germany to Jakarta. From that operation, the Criminal Investigation Unit confiscated 13,864 ecstasy from the German-Belgian-Indonesian international network. The Director of Narcotics and Drug Crime at The Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesian National Police Brigadier General Krisno Halomoan said investigators arrested four suspects, SR, IY, EM and MR. "With evidence of 1000 pills of ecstasy with the "Punisher" logo,” as explained by Krisno Halomoan Siregar, at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, Jakarta, Thursday (06/03/321). The two suspects named SR and IY were arrested when they were about to sell ecstasy n the Central Jakarta area, Monday (05/24/21). After the case was developed, investigators again secured the evidence of 9,000 ecstasy pills. The One Star General explained the distribution of ecstasy was ordered by EM and MR to be immediately circulated to the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta. Then, the Sub-Directorate IV team searched EM and MR and managed to catch them both in Cipinang, on Saturday (05/29/21). The 1991Police Academy graduate added the police are still pursuing another perpetrator named BOS as the mastermind behind the distribution of ecstasy of the German network of, which is still on a DPO (List of Searched Person) status. From the operation, the police managed to secure five suspects in the distribution of ecstasy in Jasinga, Bogor, West Java. Police Brigadier General Krisno Halomoan Siregar said his team received information that there would be delivery of packages of ecstasy narcotics from Belgium to Indonesia to the Bogor area. Tracing was then conducted and finally succeeded in arresting five suspects with 3,865 ecstasy pills as evidence. "All evidence was smuggled through goods/cargo shipments from Germany and Belgium," as concluded the former Director of Narcotics and Drugs Traffickingat the Central Java Regional Police. For their actions, all suspects will be charged with Article 112 paragraph (2), Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics.
