inp.polri.go.id - The Samosir Regency Government held a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) for the Safe Nusa II operation of Toba Contingency to prevent and Manage the Forest and Land Fires in Samosir Regency, at the Samosir Regent's Office Hall, Tuesday (9/8/22).
North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Panca Putra in one of his statements asked all stakeholders to be involved in preventing and overcoming forest and land fires in Samosir. The beauty of nature in Samosir must be protected because it is a selling point to tourists, therefore all parties must be jointly maintaining its beauty, including in anticipating forest and land fires.
“I was very saddened hearing the wildfires in Samosir, so I immediately came to see it firsthand. We must prevent and deal with this forest and land fires together, because Samosir is well know for its natural beauty and it becomes its selling point. All challanges must be addressed with an unyielding attitude, and we have to build and always maintain the communication between all stakeholders,“ explained the Police Chief.
Samosir Regent, Vandiko T. Gultom, in his speech said that the current rampant of wildfires in his region cannot be anticipated by the government alone, but requires cooperation with all stakeholders and elements of the community.
For this reason, it is necessary to hold a coordination meeting, as well as to discuss the necessary measures of all stakeholders in overcoming forest and land fires in Samosir Regency.
Meanwhile, the Samosir Police Chief, AKBP Josua Tampubolon explained that from July to August 2022, there were 15 wildfires Samosir Regency, some of which were accidental factors.
For this reason, he continued, currently an integrated task force team has been formed with a total of 250 personnel. As an anticipatory step, the Police Chief asked all stakeholders to intensify their message to the community to raise public awareness through appeals, socialization, and education.
