inp.polri.go.id - Japanese police revealed the motive behind the shooting and intent to kill former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Friday (8/7). According to the police, the perpetrator, who is a former Japanese Navy self-defense force, shot Shinzo Abe because he was dissatisfied with him, as quoted by NHK. The perpetrator whose full name is Tetsuya Yamagami also admitted that he deliberately shot Abe to kill him. However, the police did not explain in more detail about the perpetrator's dissatisfaction with Shinzo Abe. The police arrested Tetsuya at the scene, seconds after the shooting took place. Tetsuya is known to be a local resident of Nara. Quoted by Reuters, local media Fuji TV said Tetsuya was a former member of the maritime self-defense force or known as the Japanese navy. Tetsuya is said to have left the Japanese defense forces in 2005. NHK reported that the perpetrator did not resist when he was arrested by officers. The authorities have so far concluded that Tetsuya carried out his actions alone. Even so, the details of the investigation and the motive of the perpetrators are still unknown. Tetsuya reportedly used a large homemade firearm to launch the action, due to the strict law on gun ownership in Japan. The Nara City Fire Service confirmed to CNN that Abe is currently in cardiopulmonary or cardiac arrest. He was immediately rushed to the hospital after being shot. The hospital immediately provided assistance with a pacemaker for Shinzo Abe.
