Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Thousands of Malaysian tourists used the Whoosh high-speed train to travel to Bandung during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday, highlighting its growing role in Indonesia’s tourism mobility.

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) reported that around 750 to 1,000 Malaysian visitors per day traveled from Jakarta to Bandung and other West Java destinations. 

“Whoosh has become part of the travel experience for foreign tourists visiting Indonesia,” said KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa on Sunday (28/12/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com

KCIC recorded about 13,000 international passengers using Whoosh during the year end period, with Malaysians accounting for more than half since 18 December 2025. The tourists mainly visited Bandung, Lembang, and Ciwidey for leisure trips.

Overall passenger volume also increased, with daily ridership rising by up to 30 percent compared to normal days. KCIC advised travelers to book tickets early to ensure smooth and comfortable journeys during the peak holiday season.
